MB Lacrosse was founded by Mike Barrett with a passion for developing players, supporting schools and growing lacrosse opportunities across London and the South East.

As an experienced coach, qualified teacher and former international player, Mike brings together elite playing knowledge, professional coaching experience and years of educational leadership to create high-quality lacrosse programmes for all ages and abilities.

From beginners picking up a stick for the first time to experienced players looking to elevate their performance, MB Lacrosse focuses on creating enjoyable, challenging and supportive coaching environments where players can grow in confidence, skill and understanding of the game.

  • Senior Lead for England Lacrosse Aspire Boys South Programme
  • Head Coach at Bromley Lacrosse Club
  • South East Junior Summer League Lead Coach
  • Founder of the Bromley Lacrosse Project

Coaching & Development

Since 2022, Mike has worked alongside School Games Organisers to redevelop Pop Lacrosse and school lacrosse opportunities across Bromley, Sevenoaks and surrounding boroughs.

The programme has rapidly expanded, creating opportunities for hundreds of young players through:

  • School competitions
  • Curriculum delivery
  • Lunch clubs
  • After-school coaching
  • Camps and clinics
  • Teacher CPD

PLAYING EXPERIENCE

Mike has represented

  • England Men’s Lacrosse
  • Denmark Men’s Lacrosse
  • South of England Men’s Lacrosse

He competed in multiple European Championships and spent over 30 years playing with Purley Lacrosse Club, including a decade as 1st Team Captain.

EDUCATION & SAFEGUARDING

Alongside lacrosse coaching

Mike has extensive experience in education and school leadership, previously serving as Head of PE within SEN education settings.

Qualifications & training include:

  • Level 2 English Lacrosse Coach
  • Qualified Teacher
  • Senior School Leader
  • Emergency First Aid Trained
  • Safeguarding Experience
  • SEN Sport & Behaviour Management Experience
